Pray Up Pompey

During the pandemic in 2021, House of Prayer Portsmouth had a vision to walk and pray along every street in Portsmouth.

During the pandemic, House of Prayer Portsmouth caught the vision to prayer walk every street in Portsmouth to convey God’s love and invite God’s Kingdom to come into our city.

With the help of Love Portsmouth - Jesus, they were able to develop a Google based map, which allowed all those involved in the prayer walking to log the streets they had walked. By the end of the first year of a two-year project the majority of Portsmouth’s streets were prayer walked, which was so encouraging. This could only have taken place through the involvement of many churches in the city and individuals putting themselves out to prayer walk. They were also able to mobilise churches on Good Friday 2021 to prayer walk the boundary of our beautiful city which was hugely successful.

Mark Macey, from House of Prayer Portsmouth said, "We can’t thank Love Portsmouth - Jesus enough for their support with this project. At House of Prayer Portsmouth we hope this has encouraged people to get out and pray for their local communities to release a blessing and to invite God’s Kingdom to come."
